Frequently asked questions
Do I need any prior experience with horses?
Most people who come have never worked with a horse before. No prior experience of any kind is required.
Will I be riding the horses?
No. All work is done on the ground. We do not offer riding lessons or services. If you're interested in riding, we can recommend lesson or trail locations.
Are the horses forced to participate?
No. Every horse at Rugged Ranch has been rescued. None of them are forced to work. Their participation is always voluntary. That is part of what makes the feedback so honest..
What should I wear?
Closed toe shoes are required. No exceptions. Comfortable clothes you don't mind getting dirty. The terrain includes a steep incline so wear appropriate footwear. Leave the sandals and heels at home.
How long is each session?
Typical 1:1 coaching sessions are 1 hour, but can adjust to longer sessions depending on need. Pricing will scale with length of sesison.
What is the cancellation policy?
Reach out as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule. We ask for at least 24 hour cancellation notice.
